Judging Format

There will be rotating panels of five adjudicators to judge each competition. The highest and lowest marks will be discarded for each competitor or team before the recall (where applicable) and again to prepare the final result.

Application & Selection

The first phase of adjudicator selection is by mandating, a process similar to jury duty, where eligible adjudicators are selected by random draw (Download details HERE).  For 2024, this process took approximately five weeks to complete, and nine adjudicators were selected for the panel.

The second phase of adjudicator selection is by self-nomination/application.  This phase cannot occur until the first phase is complete (once responses and contracts are received by the mandated judges).  Interested adjudicators who meet the criteria (Download details HERE) are invited to submit their names to appear on an online ballot for all CLRG registrants worldwide to participate in the selection process by voting.  The 2024 vote opened on 20 December and closed on 21 December.

• 297 CLRG registrants/members out of 2,187 possible voters participated in the voting process.

• 23 individuals appeared on the ballot.  One individual withdrew.  21 of the remaining 22 individuals were selected.

NOTE: The self-nomination process purposely did not commence until after all the regional qualifiers took place, however, that did not leave enough time to complete the task before closing the office for the holidays.  This process will need to start much sooner for Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne 2025.
